Senior Orchestra Concerto Competition Winner
Kyle Jung started playing percussion at the age of 9. He is currently studying under the guidance of Artie Storch. This is his fourth year as a member of the California Youth Symphony.
Kyle has performed with the Peninsula Youth Orchestra, Peninsula Symphony, New Millennium Chamber Orchestra, and the CSUEB Honor Band. He is also very involved with his high school music program as principal percussionist in the Carlmont Symphony Orchestra and captain of the Drumline.
Kyle is finishing his senior year at Carlmont High School in Belmont. Kyle has a wide range of interests and is very active in his high school community. He is a third year Varsity Shot Put and Discus thrower, member of the Robotics team, Media commission supervisor in Carlmont ASB, president of the Ukulele Club, and president of the Friends of Millard Fillmore, a local trivia hunt. He also plays drum set for Sequoia Christian Church’s worship band.
Kyle intends to major in Physics and Philosophy in college and continue pursuing music. He would like to thank his teacher Artie for both the inspiration and the foundation of his passion for percussion.
