Associate Orchestra Concerto Competition Winner


Julia Wang, age 12, began her musical exploration when she was a toddler at the early childhood music classes offered by the Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester, in New York. After moving to Sunnyvale, CA, Julia started her violin studies at age 6 with Dana Scoby in group lessons. A year later, she switched to private lessons with Ms. Zeng Zheng, her current violin teacher. Julia has been part of the California Youth Symphony since 2013, and this is her second year in the Associate Orchestra. Recently, she was the gold medalist in the Music Legacy Open Competition. Julia loves classical music very much and enjoys playing the violin. She also enjoys skiing, reading, and drawing animals in her free time. This year, Julia is a seventh grader at Sunnyvale Middle School.
