Associate Orchestra Concerto Competition Winner
Cello soloist Victor Weber began playing the cello at the age of 5. At seven, he moved to Japan with his family and studied with Akos Kertesz and Sojung Lee of the Hyogo Performing Arts Center Orchestra, conducted by Yutaka Sado. After returning to the US, he studied with Irene Sharp in Palo Alto for several years, and in 2013, he studied with Sieun Lin in Cupertino. He will soon start studying with Jonathan Koh. This is his first year with the California Youth Symphony. Victor enjoys sharing his music with the community, and in his spare time is an avid golfer and loves reading and playing video games. Victor is an 8th grader at Cupertino Middle School.
